It will be at Poklington Arts Centre- in east Yorkshire

It will be a fun night where we all celebrate and value the great work done by everybody involved in getting local music out- the diverse creativity that is Yorkshires grass roots music scene.

The winners will be announced at the award ceremony.

The five nominated in each category are of course guests +1 free guest each.

JESS GARDHAM; Award winning singer/songwriter/Musician Jess Gardham is to release her new EP 'RISE NOT FALL' in July along with a new website and music videos!!

So watch this space.

After four years of being in a band Jess is looking forward to going right back to her roots as a songwriter.

She has released various material over the years the first being album 'Beyond Belief' which got picked up by BBC radio 2.

Jess went on to be a songwriting finalist for BBC radio 2 with them saying that "she is a songwriter to watch".

Jess's self penned songs have been played on BBC introducing throughout her musical career.

With her own brand of pop/soul/acoustic fusion she has supported a whole host of internationally known acts (KT tunstall, The Shires, The Magic Numbers, Paul Carrack, David McAlmont, Martin Simpson, Tony Joe White, rachael Sage, Kathryn Williams, Wilko Johnson, Amy Wadge, Chantel Mcgregor, mungo Jerry) and has already been booked for a host of festivals and venues this summer so make sure you catch her live!

Colin Kendall is an experienced luthier who has been building stringed instruments for 20 years, specialising in acoustic guitars and folk instruments.

Working from his basement workshop in Bury, Greater Manchester, Colin has built a solid reputation on the folk festival circuit. Using traditional methods and materials, he produces instruments that both look and sound remarkable.

Celebrating Grassroots Music Saturday October 7th- 2017, 7.00pm -11.45pm

We are thrilled to announce that the award ceremony will be held at Pocklington Arts Centre October 7th 2017.

The evening will include live grassroots music from York Singer Songwriter Jess Gardham, and Bradford Trio Trigger Thumb, food and of course the awards ceremony hosted by Chris (the man in a hat) Martin, this year joined by the fabulous Lexi Broadz in a celebration of Yorkshires grassroots music. The evening includes a light supper. Price includes food (vegetarian option available)

Please let us know if there are any vegetarians coming so we can plan the food.

The Ceremony will take place between 7.00pm and 11.45pm.

We will have a stage area in the auditorium and an area for people to sit and eat. Of course there is a bar and delicious local beers.

We are definitely not salubrious- very down to earth and grass-rootsy.

 Dress code is however you feel comfortable-
